Paralegal Merelie Knisley
Ms. Knisley has worked in the legal profession since 2018, specializing in criminal legal matters. She began her career in this field at the State of Colorado, serving the 4th Judicial District’s El Paso & Teller counties from 2018 through 2022. Stepping into a Support Services role there, where she assisted new and existing probationers, she would later expand her role to Probation Officer focusing on general adult criminal matters pertaining specifically to drug and DUI offenses for this district. Although she enjoyed fostering positive growth change in others, Ms. Knisley accepted a position in 2022, working for the Colorado Lawyer Assistance Program (COLAP) where she assisted lawyers, law students, and judges in addressing their mental, behavioral, and substance abuse-related issues. In September of this year, she has since joined the Kanthaka Group team to apply her knowledge and experience in criminal defense-related matters. She is knowledgeable in court processes, procedures, and research. Additionally, she offers clients a warm and calming approach to the oftentimes stressful circumstances that most defendants experience as they move through the legal process.
In her free time, Ms. Knisley enjoys spending quality time with her family and spends time reconnecting with nature. She also partakes in studying spiritual and philosophical subjects and embraces yoga, aerobics, dance, cooking, gardening, and skiing. She continues to seek ways to enrich her life and the lives of those around her through self-discovery and service to others.
